Zach Hatcher


Zachary James Hatcher, born January 1996, is an American harp soloist currently residing in Copenhagen. In September 2021 Hatcher began teaching as the harp professor at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen. 

In 2014 Hatcher became the first American to have been accepted to the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieure de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the harp class of Isabelle Moretti. In 2015 Hatcher was recruited by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra where he currently performs as harp soloist of the orchestra.

The same year, Hatcher began performing as the solo harpist of the Verbier Festival Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist, Hatcher most recently brought contemporary music into the harp repertoire by performing the premier of Martin Stauning’s ‘Harp Concerto’ with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Joshua Weilerstein.
